Editorial Policy: How We Write and Check
Last updated: 7 October 2026
Two kinds of content
- Other publishers' stories: headline, short summary, picture and source from the public feeds of trusted news organisations. Every story carries its publisher's name and the full story is on that publisher's website. We do not change or rewrite these stories.
- Our own articles ("Our articles"): explainers written by the Hindi Raftaar Desk, such as how gold prices are set or how to avoid online fraud. They are bylined "Hindi Raftaar Desk".
How our articles are written
- Every fact comes from an official or primary source — a government department, a regulator, a company's official website or a sports body's rules. These sources are linked in the "Sources" list at the end of each article.
- Information that changes over time (prices, taxes, helpline numbers, rules) is re-checked at least every three months. The date of the last check is shown on the article as "Last reviewed".
- Figures used in examples are clearly marked as examples, so they are never mistaken for today's rates.
- Articles on health, money or law are general information, not a substitute for expert advice.
Corrections policy
When a mistake in one of our articles is confirmed (usually within 7 days), we correct the article, change its "updated" date and add a note where the correction matters. Report mistakes to the email on our contact page, with the article link and a source for the correct information.
Independence and advertising
- No article or story is published in return for money from a political party, company or person.
- If advertising or sponsored content is ever shown, it will be clearly labelled "Advertisement" or "Sponsored".
- Stories are not chosen to suit any viewpoint; each section shows the newest items from publishers' feeds.
For questions or to report a correction, see the Contact page.
